Last night
What a way to end the trip, spending my last evening having a picnic and enjoying a spectacular fountains and fireworks show at the chateau Versailles gardens.
Au revoir Paris!

Invalides
Napoleon Bonaparte's oversized sarcophagus is located under the big golden dome.
In the same compound is the military museum which has a rich collection of swords, armor, guns, military uniforms, and related artifacts.

Vin chaud
Warm red wine simmered in cinnamon spice. It's an acquired taste. Tasted better after I had the dark chocolate served with it.
Mont Saint Michel
Medieval village of Mont Saint Michel that looks like a floating island at high tide. Extremely touristy that you had to pay to use the public washroom inside.

Tonight's dinner
Entree gourmande, canard terroir, and cafe gourmande. The gourmande is a sampler dish of various items.
Had foie gras for the first time in my life. I'm not a fan. It is very buttery and fatty. Duck was alright. Desserts were pretty good. I like the mini creme brule with pistachio tart the best. Too much eating tonight.
Omaha beach
D-day landing beach for the American regiment. Large casualties suffered due to the low position of the beach. Just above is the American cemetery.

Caen
Drove three hours north-west of Paris to the city of Caen, the historic capital of Normandie. We're here to visit a few of the WW2 historical sites. Didn't get to see much today but hopefully more tomorrow.
Here is a picture of Caen centre-ville:
